Chris:- 26 walkers set off from the beautiful village green at East Dean and, led by Jane Giles, we meandered every which way across the Seven Sisters before descending to the visitors centre at Exceat. On through Friston Forest via West Dean and then down into Littlington. Some took the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the "Long Blonde" at the Long Man Brewery before we headed back up onto the Downs on our way back, via Jevington to East Dean for lunch.
16 stalwarts set off after lunch back up onto the Downs to make our way to Birling Gap, after which we followed the very scenic paths across the cliffs past Belle Tout lighthouse and on to Beachy Head. Finally making our way back to East Dean along an inland ridge having walked, according to my GPS, nearly 21 miles with 3,175ft of ascent.
A great days walking on challenging terrain.
