David Hodge:- On a clear and bright morning 16 of us set of from Alfriston heading west along the downs as far as Firle, then came back along the lower coach road to Berwick. Later on it clouded over but turned bright again when we got to the Cricketers at Berwick. Along the way Ben (one of the dogs) found a dead rabbit and had to be persuaded to let it go. 2 others joined us at Berwick and after a meal (soup and a roll was the most popular) we had the usual carol singing. A great event enjoyed by all. In the early afternoon We walked back to Alfriston with about half the party taking a longer route back as there was time to spare. Thanks to all the organisers and a merry christmas and a happy new year to all.
